Oman, throughout its very long history, has contributed to the building of human civilization, a contribution that is universally acknowledged and renowned.
The strategic location of this country, the lively spirit which took
Omanis to all
corners of the world - sailing the seas, facing the dangers, exploring new horizons, and reaching out to other peoples with their traditions and cultures - all these factors had a lasting effect on the civilization that was built by our forefathers and succeeding generations. This civilization is now a living heritage embodying and reflecting the saga of our history, and the deep rooted richness of the Omani experience. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said- Icon of Peace- Pride of Oman

The magazine said that American officials credit the Sultanate with having helped free three American hikers from an Iranian prison. The report said that the Sultanate also helped secure the release of three French aid workers who were kidnapped and held in Yemen. The Newsmax report said that Oman is the first Arab state to recognise Egypt’s peace accord with Israel in the era of late Egyptian president Mohammed Anwar A’Sadat. It also appreciated the development Oman has witnessed in the last four decades under His Majesty the Sultan’s rule. The report referred to the Royal decrees to add thousands of new jobs, and a place for Omani women in the Omani society. The magazine referred to new legislative powers granted to the Shura Council and to the Sultanate’s tradition of religious tolerance.
