The Oman Ministry of Tourism is launching a marketing campaign to coincide with the country’s 40th National Day celebrations, which commemorate His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s assumption of power.The celebrations will run from November to April 2011, including events such as the Muscat Asian beach games, the Muscat Festival, including Oman’s first Fashion Week and Food Festival, and a Tour of Oman cycle race.http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/Articles/2010/11/09/35207/wtm+2010+oman+launches+uk+marketing+campaign.html

Launching the Omani-Chinese Friendship Association coincides with the Sultanate's celebrations of the 40th Glorious National Day and on the occasion of the visit paid by Jia Qingling, Permanent Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Part of China and Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference who is currently visiting the Sultanate with high level delegation.
